Who Are We?

Neuroenhancement Lab, LLC is a neuroscience R&D startup engaged in developing new cutting-edge technologies in the field of neuromodulation and neuroenhancement.

Our proprietary technology is based on the ground-breaking idea proposed by Dr. Poltorak, the founder of Neuroenhancement Lab, that mental states can be “transplanted” by replicating neural correlates (neuronal oscillations producing brainwaves) of these states from one person to another.

The Idea: Replicating Mental States

Our idea is to transplant the desired mental state from one person to another.

Suppose the first subject (we call him/her a “trainee” or “recipient”) desires to achieve a certain mental state (e.g., a state of relaxation, deep sleep, a state of focus, an altered state of consciousness, being in the “zone” or in the “flow,” or a particular emotional state);

Suppose, the second subject (we call him/her a “trainer” or “donor”) is adept at achieving and maintaining the desired mental state;

To accomplish “transplanting” the desired mental state, we propose to:

  1. record neural correlates (e.g., brainwaves) of the desired mental state in the trainer/donor who is in the desired mental state, using, for example, electroencephalography (EEG);
  2. process the recorded brainwaves to create a waveform for stimulation; and
  3. “play” the recorded brainwaves back by stimulating the trainees’ brain (e.g.,
    through electric or magnetic transcranial stimulation, light or sound) to
    help the trainee achieve the desired mental state.

Dr. Poltorak wrote an in-depth paper on this theory titled “On the Possibility of Transplanting Mental States“.
